Growing up in the foothills of Colorado my passion for the outdoors began at an early age. My interest in fitness stemmed from my active childhood which would lead me to starting strength training at the age of 13. At the time I would have never guessed that I was embarking on a life long journey that would eventually lead to owning a gym and helping more then 1000 people regain their health and fitness.
At 27 I started my professional career as a personal trainer at a big-box gym. Working my way through the ranks I grew incredibly disenfranchised with the “churn-and-burn, get no results” corporate gym business model. I desperately needed a change……
Inspired by the underground movement of training programs such as CrossFit and Gym Jones, I was instantly drawn to their minimalist approach to functional fitness. I quickly realized my salvation was to start my own gym and in 2009 I opened CrossFit Lakewood and haven’t looked back since.
Being healthy and fit takes a tremendous amount of hard work. If you believe in yourself and dedicate your time and energy to the program any goal is achievable!

I'm a native to Colorado and lover of the outdoors. I love to hike, bike, camp, snowboard and exercise with my dog Oscar!
Coaching fitness has been my career for over a decade now. I've built my life around helping the average Joe/Jane discover their very own "golden mean" (or perfect balance) of how to accomplish goals and "find their fitness," a phrase that is widely relative to every person I've ever spent time with. I been around long enough to have seen a lot of the ups and downs, the rises and falls, the crashes, the fads, the booms and the busts of the fitness industry.
I spent the first 6 years of my career working at and managing globo-gyms and their teams. I saw so many of my clients, members and employees hopping on and off bandwagon after bandwagon, sometimes with good results, many times with bad. It felt impossible to coach someone through the reality of their situation when they were so convinced that their magic pill, their incredible machine, or their video routine was the answer to all their fitness problems. I've been lucky enough to get to call "CrossFit Coach" my job title for a while now, and I have yet to find a program that has combated so many of the challenges and hurdles I used to face in both my own physical endeavors, as well as being a trainer in the fitness industry.
As a coach at CrossFit Lakewood my main goal is to impart knowledge, inspire people, set an example, and keep people's "cant's," "wont's," and "I'll never's" at the door. I look forward to helping you experience it!

I was born and raised in New Mexico. My fitness journey began when I started engaging in wrestling. Throughout my athletic career I had always heard about CrossFit but I never knew what it was. It wasn’t until I got a hernia from wrestling in the spring of 2015 and needed surgery that I did internet search on it. The first thing that came up was the highlights of the 2014 CrossFit Games. At that moment I believed that CrossFit could be the fastest way to recover and get back into wrestling shape. I did my very first CrossFit WOD after my surgery recovery and was immediately hooked. Since then I have been working hard every day not just for my health, but to be the fittest that I can possibly be. I love to push my body beyond its limits and I like to help others do the same so they can achieve their health and fitness goals. I love CrossFit for its intensity and because you don’t need to have a fitness or athletic background to do it.

I grew up on the Western Slope of Colorado. My wife and I moved to the Front Range in 2019. I enjoy traveling, trying new things, and anything outdoors. I have always been interested in fitness and being in shape. I, like most, made many feeble attempts at the traditional gym performing the standard 3 sets of 10, never finding successes. In 2009, I was introduced to CrossFit and never looked back. Always being interested in coaching, I finally received my Level 1 certification in 2018.
I have always believe in what I call “The Last 400 Model.” On a common track, a mile consists of four, 400 meter laps. Imagine a track athlete; it is rare a runner will achieve a personal record by sprinting their first lap leaving them to trudge through the remaining four laps. It is far more common for a runner to set a strong pace for their first 3 laps and maybe not sprint, but finish stronger on their last lap. The last 400 is where the difference is made. A person’s last 400 might look like the last 90 seconds of a workout or 9 reps of Fran. It is in these final moments when your goal is reached. Everyone comes to CrossFit with fitness goals. I want to help people get through their first 3 laps so they are ready to fly through their last 400.
